This scholarship is in memory of Kerm Helmer, the founding coach of the Varsity Bowling
Program at ECC and the NJCAA. Under his leadership the team earned 37 NJCAA
National Titles and even more Regional Titles. His teams also captured intercollegiate
championships from some of the best 4 year and 2 year college bowling programs in the
country. This scholarship continues because of the generosity of Ken Duke, ECC Alumnus
’78, ‘86, and former Varsity Bowling Team member and coach and his wife, Susan Duke,
retired ECC Registrar at the City Campus.
