Study Abroad Scholarship

The Study Abroad Scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who will be going abroad as part of a SUNY study abroad course. It is designed to encourage students to undertake the unique learning experience of studying in a foreign country. The scholarship was established by SUNY Erie employee Nathan Wallace, who participated in a semester-long study abroad program in China. Nathan encourages all SUNY Erie students to take part in activities that increase their understanding of global diversity.

ELIGIBILITY:
1. Proof of registration in a study abroad course
2. Full-time student
3. Essay: Explain your choice to study abroad. Where do you plan to go, why do you want to go there, what do you hope to learn from the experience, and how does study abroad relate to your long term goals?
4. How do you plan to use the scholarship funds?
5. Preference given to a student with financial need.
6. Preference given to SUNY Erie study abroad programs over other SUNY institution’s study abroad programs.
