George F. Lamm American Legion Auxiliary Post # 622 Scholarship

George F. Lamm was one of the first Town of Amherst servicemen to give his life for his
country in World War I. As a machine gunner in Co. L, 7th Infantry Reg., 3rd Division,
he was killed in the line of duty on July 15, 1918. At the time the 3rd Division played an
important role in repulsing the German drive.
