Shaun Wilson Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Shaun Wilson Jr. was a resourceful young man who struggled in school but worked hard and dreamt big. He saw himself as more of an athlete that an academic but that never stopped him from moving his life forward in his own unique way.
His was the essence of entrepreneurship. Shaun was always looking for that next job or side hustle to get to yet the next bigger thing just around the corner. He was good at business and willing to take risks to get ahead.
Shaun was an example of the impatient student. He had an energy and drive that kept him thinking about what he could be doing next. It was difficult for him to conform to a more formalized education such as the time he spent while at SUNY Erie (ECC). Still, he was resourceful and persevered. His attitude was, “It will all work out”.
Shaun’s life was too short for those who knew him and loved him, but he made a huge impact in the lives of those he touched while he was here. This scholarship means so much to the family and friends he left behind. It is our shared hope that the students who receive this award, this honor, will live out the kind of life that Shaun only began to experience.

ELIGIBILITY:
1. minimum GPA 2.0
2. Financial need considered
3. ESSAY (300 words) or 3 minute video: Demonstrate you exhibit drive, determination and are goal-oriented, extremely ambitious, and relentless in pursuit of your dreams.
4. Preference for certificate or degree in: ANY Business Program, Entrepreneur classes or Sports Program.
5. Preference for Black/African-American male
